Richese physical card collection audit
Audited 6 September 2026. The ten physical identities and their readable face instructions are verified below. This is an isolated inventory and original gameplay guide, not runtime activation or certification of combined interactions. No general deck factory, selectable expansion or battle resolver was activated. The checkpoints below distinguish read-only presentation from the later development-only auction integration.
Stone Burner, complete ordinary portraits and recovery checkpoint (2026-09-06)
-
Canonical Stone Burner now uses the weapon slot without changing its saved
kind: specialidentity. It has a named Voice role, Prescience/Truth-compatible original commitments, a private precommit availability check, and an event-bound owner choice after both plans reveal. Kill mode kills both participating leader discs; ignore mode preserves other weapon attacks. Both replace ordinary strength with undialed physical-token comparison, with the aggressor winning ties. Neither adds the Kwisatz Haderach bonus or kills that companion. Normal support, bounty, traitor/explosion precedence, casualty choices and winner/loser/Moritani retention remain shared with the existing battle flow. -
Physical counting enumerates every legal casualty allocation. A winner is accepted only when every permitted pair agrees. The printed Advanced Emperor example includes three possible remaining-token totals; where all give the same winner, the winner still chooses its normal casualty allocation afterward. Where the choice could change the winner, a conservative check rejects Stone before either hidden opposing plan is inspected. Foreign No-Field values are represented by public possibilities, never read to decide availability. Compulsory Stone Voice must leave a common zero-spice completion across those public possibilities.
-
Two actual interpretation questions remain unanswered: the commitment procedure when Advanced or Basic Ix physical allocations change the winner, and the priority of opposing Stone/Poison Tooth revealed choices. No policy was inferred from silence. A public Ix-configuration guard prevents accepting a Stone plan whose combined timing cannot yet finish. This is an explicit implementation boundary, not a printed prohibition. Mirror/copied weapons and unfinished modules remain uncertified. See STONE_BURNER_ENGINE_AUDIT.md.
-
Player controls show both original plans, exact undialed counts or honest possible totals, the mode choice and a complete internal guide. No victim/death confirmation is added. The card stays physically reserved until standard cleanup; stale events, duplicate requests and corrupted source custody fail before resources change. All four AI profiles use public force possibilities, legal low-dial plans and revealed leader/bounty information. They preserve leader value when Artillery suppresses bounty and leave traitor/explosion precedence intact.
-
Semuta Drug has a bounded preview for clean public ordinary-card, paid Box, retired Ornithopter, private Distrans, final Truthtrance, four Sapho scopes, unready pre-leader Residual Poison, printed Karama canceling CHOAM Charity, Inflation or Bene Gesserit Charity, and three separate battle discard stages. A fresh Richese roster may include the physical Ix deck: Thumper pauses before worm/spice draw and Amal pauses after halving spice before phase initialization. Multi-owner battle batches reveal candidates only after holder commitment and transfer one other-player card. Private gifts, unresolved promises, reactive arrivals, other Karama forms, inspected/partly ready battles and pending battle rewards remain outside scope. Other producers, full-hand ordering and normal Richese starts are unfinished. Mirror Weapon and Juice of Sapho retain separate bounded paths, not combined-mode certification.
The complete integrated validation checkpoint is recorded in IMPLEMENTATION_STATUS.md.
Primary artifacts and provenance
- Publisher-authored CHOAM & Richese rulebook, printed pp4–6, 10–12: GF9 original. Direct retrieval returned an HTML access-error page; the old files named
choam-primary.pdfandchoam-publisher-audit.pdfare not usable PDFs. - A readable copy of that same publisher-authored 12-page rulebook was retrieved from this retailer-hosted mirror, locally
/tmp/dune-rules/choam-lelekan-mirror.pdf. SHA-256:b628cef05b167953c2f192c8acfdefea92aee8f5497eea779edacf7be25e6299. Its text agrees with the indexed publisher source. Page5 includes a readable Distrans face. - All ten printed cards are together in this physical-component photograph, linked as a card image by the CHOAM & Richese product gallery. Local
/tmp/dune-rules/choam-cards-gallery1.jpg, 1024×768; SHA-2569c1d3e65fa33489e7675055ed1fc932fefcb79f6053ee365ddee6737ae10b81f. Each individual face was visually enlarged and read. The photograph is evidence of the printed artifacts, not reliance on the gallery’s rules commentary. Its uploader/original publication date has not been independently established. The design, ten-card total, faction/expansion marks and Distrans wording agree with the publisher PDF. No claim of complete printing/errata history is made.
The low-resolution designer component composite was insufficient to read all faces. Fan-made “Richese Reforged” lists were excluded: their fifteen-card composition, replacement of Stone Burner and changed Mirror Weapon retention are not this inventory. No third-party image was incorporated into the application.
Verified inventory and behavior boundaries
Each row represents one physical card. The collection therefore contains ten cards, with one additional Karama distinct from the two replacement core Karama cards listed separately on rulebook p4. Printed types below are independent of the inert TypeScript transport shape.
| Stable ID | Printed identity / type | Original mechanics summary | Implementation boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
richese-ornithopter |
Ornithopter — Special / Movement | During own movement, choose one group moving up to three territories or two different groups using normal movement; discard. | A resumable two-group move needs storm/path/entry reactions and allowance composition. It is not another shipment. |
richese-residual-poison |
Residual Poison — Special | Before choosing battle leaders, the opponent loses a random available leader to the Tanks; no death spice; discard. | Persist server randomness once. Audit available-leader custody, used leaders, empty pool, Duke, gholas and captured leaders before use. |
richese-semuta-drug |
Semuta Drug — Special | Immediately claim a card another player discarded; choose one when several were discarded together; discard Semuta. | A fresh discard-event reaction and physical custody transaction are required. Full-hand sequencing and simultaneous claims remain unresolved. No unrestricted browsing. |
richese-stone-burner |
Stone Burner — Weapon / Special | After plans reveal, choose to kill both leaders or disregard their strength if they otherwise survive. More undialed force tokens wins; dialed losses remain normal; discard. | Preserve post-reveal choice. Advanced physical-token counting, tie resolution, other weapons, traitors, explosions and death rewards need audit. The second option does not grant immunity to ordinary leader death. |
richese-mirror-weapon |
Mirror Weapon — Weapon / Special | Copy an opposing revealed card only if it is a weapon; the copy goes first when order matters; discard. | General FAQ winner retention applies; copied Tooth/Artillery disposal remains unresolved. Audit special and mode-dependent weapons before integration. |
richese-portable-snooper |
Portable Snooper — Defense / Poison | Late poison protection after revealing a plan without defense, respecting Voice; prohibited after a weapon-plus-Worthless plan; discard. | Separate post-plan defense window, promises and slot interpretation. Not a duplicate Snooper for CHOAM (FAQ p10). |
richese-distrans |
Distrans — Special | Give another player a hand card if they have room, at any time except during a bid; discard. | Atomic ownership/capacity check. Reserved cards, giving Distrans itself and exact bid substeps require resolution. No cache transfer. |
richese-juice-of-sapho |
Juice of Sapho — Special | Choose battle aggressor, first turn-order position, or last position even after Guild; intervene in the applicable phase; discard. | FAQ p11 allows last position in Once-Around. Do not replay completed actions. Reordering after Richese’s customary last bid and concurrent powers needs explicit composed continuation rules. |
richese-karama |
Karama — Special | Updated normal Karama: one faction/alliance advantage prevention, discounted bank-paid shipping, or Treachery acquisition options; special victory and special Karama cannot be stopped. | Use existing Karama validation only after explicit integration. Advanced special power is the holder’s faction power. Cache/Black Market purchase cannot use Karama even for this physical card. |
richese-nullentropy-box |
Nullentropy Box — Special | Pay bank2; privately search discard for any card except a Nullentropy Box; take it; shuffle remaining discard and put this Box on top. | It does not offer a top-deck draw. Exclude every Box identity; preserve shuffle and final top-card order. Capacity/empty-pile/recycling/Semuta order unresolved. |
The complete original prose paragraphs and explicit behavior contracts are in game/richese-cards.ts. No face is labelled verified artwork or an exact printed-text reproduction. Unknown interactions stay developer metadata rather than becoming guessed player instructions.
Shared custody, Basic / Advanced and privacy
- Rulebook p5 places the ten cards in Richese’s separate cache, outside its hand. The factory creates only this physical inventory and does not add it to the ordinary deck. A collection card enters a hand through a valid acquisition; selling does not itself discard it.
- Whenever actually discarded, a collection card goes into the normal discard pile (p5), not back into the Richese cache. Ordinary later deck recycling therefore treats it as a normal discarded card unless a card effect intervenes. An all-zero cache-auction choice to remove a card is removal from the game, not discard.
- Rulebook p4 keeps discard contents private unless an effect permits inspection. Nullentropy grants its user a secret search; Semuta is limited to a current eligible discard event. Neither gives every player a discard browser.
- These ten cards belong to the normal Richese setup and their faces are not an Advanced-only module. Advanced play adds Richese Black Market and its special Karama acquisition (pay3 to choose a cached card secretly); it does not create a different ten-card inventory. The optional Leader Skill and Advanced Stronghold modules are separate and their interactions are not certified here.
- Basic and Advanced share each face’s core instruction. Advanced interactions needing extra care include force support and physical tokens for Stone Burner, faction Voice/Prescience, leader skills/custody, late defenses and phase powers.
spiceCost: 0in metadata means the card itself states no extra activation fee; it never makes shipping, purchasing or a chosen faction Karama power free. Nullentropy’s explicit activation fee is2. - A Richese ally may receive a Richese-family card already in Richese’s hand if the recipient has room (p6); this is not permission to give from cache. Distrans is its own broader player-to-player effect.
- Acquisition origin must be stored separately from printed family. Ix’s ally cannot replace a direct cache purchase, but can replace a Black Market purchase even if its face is a Richese card (FAQ p10). Harkonnen bonus draw applies to either purchase (FAQ p11). Neither purchase route permits Karama acquisition (pp5–6).
Isolated API and required next integration
RICHESE_CARD_DEFINITIONS: immutable physical card, quantity, printed type, timing, summary/full guide, behavior and verification metadata.richeseCards(): fresh mutable inventory; no activation, hand access, deck access or random draw.richeseCardDefinition(card): exact ID, name, kind and effect match; does not enrich impostor/similarly named cards.RICHESE_COLLECTION: separate-cache and discard-routing metadata, explicitly not implemented.
The existing Card union has no dedicated Stone Burner/Mirror/Portable types. This isolated module therefore uses kind: 'special' as a transport shape and records their real printed battle categories separately. It must not be fed to existing generic battle validators; those require dedicated legal-slot/effect integration. A later change should review and migrate that transport type before activating the collection. Existing base/Ix deck assembly and expansion gating remain unchanged.
Tests in tests/richese-cards.test.ts check exact composition, physical ID uniqueness against base/Ix, fresh custody objects, deep immutability, strict lookup, printed categories, normal/Box disposal, critical face restrictions and no silent deck activation. These are component-contract checks, not tests of the ten gameplay effects. No multiplayer or browser completion claim is made for Richese.
Read-only presentation checkpoint (before auction integration)
The Rules reference now includes richese-cards, ten individual card topics, a five-facet feature checklist and public static catalog tiles. Each tile uses the existing CardRules and CardInspector, showing the actual printed category and the complete original guide. Strict ID/name/kind/effect lookup prevents enriching a similar arbitrary card. Printed category controls only presentation styling; runtime Card.kind is unchanged. Inspectors explicitly state that Richese actions and expansion starts are disabled. No live cache, hand, deck or game state is read by the catalog.
Source limitations above and unresolved interaction metadata remain developer-only. The interface does not claim publisher-authorized artwork or an exact printed-text reproduction. Five named presentation tests passed, along with eight existing Ecaz presentation tests, eight reference tests, targeted lint and full typecheck. Integrated browser inspection remains pending; card behaviors remain unimplemented.
Initial auction integration checkpoint (superseded by final bounded verification below)
The engine now consumes this physical inventory as a separate cache in development fixtures. It does not activate a selectable Richese game or register the ten card effects. Cache-first/cache-last scheduling, Once Around and Silent cache bidding, and advanced Black Market with all three methods are integrated. Other-buyer sales, zero results and Black Market cancellation preserve the correct custody boundary. Own and pledged ally funding is reserved and settled once; Silent bids stay private until simultaneous revelation. Atreides Black Market inspection, sale-origin-dependent Ixian ally replacement, and Harkonnen bonus continuation are routed through the auction pipeline.
components/richese-auctions.tsx supplies owner card/method/direction selection, declaration, optional public claim, explicit bid funding, sealed submission and free-card/removal controls. Existing response/decision priority stays ahead of the lot controls. game/bots.ts supports all four profiles on their projected views: legal cache choices, offered-lot bidding, zero/pass and hand-capacity disposition. The optional Black Market prelude is currently always declined by AI; its three methods are handled when a lot is already offered.
Explicit unresolved guards remain: cache-auction cancellation's replacement-count policy, exhausted-cache arithmetic, positive Black Market self-bids and advanced Ixian Technology substitution on special lots. The last guard reflects unresolved replacement custody, not an official prohibition inferred from the different Ixian ally rule. Ordinary Richese card effects, including actual Juice of Sapho play, remain inert. The pure order-rearrangement helper is not card activation.
Current focused evidence: tests/richese-engine.test.ts (10), tests/richese-auction-bots.test.ts (8), tests/richese-auction.test.ts (18), tests/richese-funding.test.ts (9), tests/richese-cards.test.ts (6), tests/richese-card-presentation.test.ts (5), and tests/choam-richese-leaders.test.ts (5). These cover bounded engine, policy, physical and presentation contracts. Independent continuation/room-recovery review and integrated browser verification are still pending at this checkpoint. No complete Richese game or full expansion compliance is claimed.
Runtime inheritance and reservation clarification
The physical Richese Karama has effect: 'karama' and inherits the existing generic handler if acquired in a development fixture. Earlier statements that all ten effects were wholly disabled should be read as the original inventory checkpoint, not the current runtime state. Remaining card-effect integration and full interaction verification are incomplete; actual Juice of Sapho card play remains inert and live expansion starts stay gated.
The engine now rejects playing a Black Market card reserved for sale and prevents a donor reducing pledged funding during unfinished Silent bidding. The latter avoids probing private sealed commitments through success/error limits. Independent review, recovery and browser verification remain pending until their checks finish. Internal rule navigation now tracks query changes and controlled topic-open state, preserving the destination after filter resets; browser confirmation of that fix is pending.
Final bounded verification checkpoint
Root verification completed: 13 engine scenarios (tests/richese-engine.test.ts), 11 independent engine review scenarios (tests/richese-engine-review.test.ts), seven persisted-room scenarios (tests/richese-auction-recovery.test.ts), eight bot scenarios, 18 pure auction scenarios (13 in tests/richese-auction.test.ts plus five in tests/richese-auction-review.test.ts), nine funding, six inventory, six presentation and five roster scenarios. Global checks passed: 1,106 rules tests, 81 recovery tests, production build, lint and typecheck. The 120 Basic AI calibration games completed with unchanged outcomes; these were not complete Richese games.
Desktop browser checks confirmed all ten enlarged card guides were readable, including Juice of Sapho after a screenshot retry, and direct catalog deep links opened the intended topic. In isolated room 63NJ822S, first-position declaration, offer and Once Around self-bid of 3 settled automatically, leaving 17 spice, one acquired card and two normal lots. A separate Silent check kept the viewer’s bid of 4 private; a fresh tab restored two-of-three submissions and that own bid. After a synthetic third zero submission, Harkonnen won the four-spice storm-order tie and received its bonus, with Richese reaching 24 spice. The synthetic final submission is not represented as a third human browser action. Exact visual evidence is maintained by root in docs/VISUAL_PLAYTEST.md.
Full-hand recovery now automatically passes or submits zero for newly ineligible bidders and removes an unbid cache card when its owner has no hand capacity. With all hands full, ordinary pool preparation does not lose cards through unnecessary draws. Reserved Black Market card play and Silent-donor funding reduction are guarded.
The hand now uses strict canonical printed categories/roles and a disabled Play control with a reason for the nine unimplemented Richese effects, preserving generic Karama controls. The server-projected advanced Ixian special-lot restriction is shown before an offer; skipping Black Market remains available. The final browser recheck in QA room63NJ822S version9 confirmed Ornithopter’s printed Special - Movement category, visible incomplete-effect reason, disabled Play card button and available inspector. Mobile layout, full Richese games, remaining card effects and guarded source interpretations remain unverified or unfinished. All live expansion starts remain gated.
Current bounded runtime checkpoint (2026-09-06)
Five physical effects now have bounded development handlers: Karama, Distrans, Nullentropy Box, Ornithopter and Residual Poison. The five other effects remain inactive. Historical nine-inactive-effect observations above describe their earlier inspected baseline. Residual Poison now uses the source wording before choosing leaders, a private play panel and automatic random death with exact battle-event recovery. Its shared preparation procedure and unresolved Advanced Harkonnen captive-disclosure guard are documented in RICHESE_RESIDUAL_POISON_ENGINE_AUDIT.md. Full expansion starts remain gated.
Portable Snooper and retention clarification (2026-09-06)
Six effects now have bounded development handlers: Karama, Distrans, Nullentropy Box, Ornithopter, Residual Poison and Portable Snooper. Portable supports normal and late poison defense with separate public played-card custody and ordinary winner/Moritani retention. The November 2020 official FAQ corrects the earlier overly strict assumption that a discard footer always denies winner retention; Mirror’s copied mandatory-discard exception remains a separate pending ruling. Four effects and complete combined games remain unfinished. See PORTABLE_SNOOPER_ENGINE_AUDIT.md and MIRROR_WEAPON_ENGINE_AUDIT.md.
30 September 2026 — Semuta clean-discard preview
The bounded Semuta runtime supersedes older inactive-card observations for one explicitly opted-in fresh Richese profile, optionally with the physical Ix deck. Neutral all-seat responses, physical one-card recovery, provisional free-slot policy, minimal legal AI and saved continuation work after clean ordinary-card, paid Box, retired Ornithopter, private Distrans, final Truthtrance, four Sapho scopes, clean pre-leader Residual Poison, printed Karama canceling CHOAM Charity, Inflation or Bene Gesserit Charity, Ix-deck Thumper/Amal and three battle discard stages. Karama's cost pauses before its one canceled response settles; BG's extra allowance is withheld, while Inflation's placement attempt remains spent without placing a token. Once Around commits lot order and hand-slot release, battle-order/pre-plan Sapho commit priority, and Residual Poison commits one random death before the neutral offer. Thumper pauses before worm/spice draw; Amal resumes its already-halved opening once. Multi-owner batches require committed owner-only selection. Queued questions, promises, reactive arrivals, other Karama forms, inspected/partly ready battles, pending rewards and other sources stay unconnected. Full-hand ordering, ten-card inventory, cache custody and public expansion start gate are unchanged.
