# Emperor alliance gift timing

## Basic Nexus and Richese cache auction gifts — 30 October 2026
Supported Basic ordinary Nexus auctions offer the Emperor's gift before the
existing Nexus payment choice. Continuing preserves the original winning bid
and pledged shares; the existing Nexus funding or payment follows. Supported
Basic Richese Once Around and Silent cache sales also offer a gift before the
committed sale settles, retaining the quoted winner, price and funding split.
The cache control explains that Continue settles the original sale. Karama,
Kull and supported Semuta responses retain the same opportunity and physical
cards. Minimal bots can participate in these paths.
The publisher FAQ cited below permits direct gifts; this ordering and Continue
are provisional online interpretations. Evidence includes public-start
[Nexus auctions](../tests/emperor-auction-gift-nexus-basic.test.ts),
[cache sales](../tests/emperor-richese-cache-gift-basic-public.test.ts),

and [cache controls](../tests/emperor-auction-gift-cache-controls.test.tsx).
Fixtures stage selected balances, cards and unopened Spice order. Cache sales
combined with Nexus or other optional modules, other special auctions, wider
timing interactions, complete games and deployed acceptance remain open.

## Basic allied auction payment — 30 October 2026
In a supported Basic ordinary auction, the Emperor can give spice to the
mutual ally who has won the current lot before its original payment. The
neutral opportunity does not reveal the Emperor's private balance or the
buyer's cards. Allowance transfers the gift once; Karama cancellation transfers
nothing, and Continue returns to the same bid, pledged split and payment.
Supported native-faction games also retain the existing Kull and Semuta
responses to cancellation: their own costs and claim/pass finish before the
same gift opportunity resumes. The existing Basic payment routing remains.
The [publisher FAQ, p. 5](https://www.gf9games.com/dune/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Dune-FAQ-Nov-2020.pdf)
permits the Emperor to give a mutual ally spice directly for any reason. This
uniform online priority and explicit Continue are provisional timing, not a
publisher ruling. Public-start fixtures use real setup, worm, alliance and
bids with staged balances, card custody and selected unopened Spice order.
At that checkpoint Nexus, special Richese auctions, other optional modules,
other timing parents, complete games and deployed acceptance remained open;
the newer section above describes the additional supported paths.

## Basic Emperor gift during Ix phase openings — 29 October 2026
In a clean Basic game with the Ix deck, classic factions and native Ixians or
Tleilaxu, the Emperor may share spice with a mutual ally during an Amal phase
opening, including after
passing. The opening and its exact pass history pause while the gift's Karama
response resolves; allowance transfers the spice immediately and cancellation
transfers nothing. The same opening then resumes, and a subsequent Amal applies
to the updated balances and resets passes normally.
The [publisher FAQ, p. 5](https://www.gf9games.com/dune/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Dune-FAQ-Nov-2020.pdf)
permits direct allied gifts for any reason and immediate collection. Applying
that power during the Basic opening is a provisional online timing
interpretation. The scope excludes other expansion families, optional modules,
competing continuations and outstanding commitments requiring a combined
planner. Bot seats may finish the opening before a human Emperor can act.
Advanced and other interruption windows remain unfinished. Runtime evidence
covers [classic](../tests/emperor-phase-opening-gift.test.ts) and
[native Ix faction](../tests/emperor-ix-native-opening-gift.test.ts) games;
the native cases start with public setup and stage the reciprocal alliance and
physical card custody. Rendered controls cover [classic](../tests/emperor-timing-gift-controls.test.tsx)
and [native Ix factions](../tests/emperor-ix-native-opening-gift-controls.test.tsx).

## Emperor gift during Moritani Extortion — 29 October 2026
In supported Basic and Advanced games with Moritani, the Emperor can give
spice to the current Extortion payer when they are mutual allies. Allowing
the gift updates the payer's balance before the original pay-or-decline choice;
Karama cancellation transfers nothing. The ordered queue, collected five-spice
bank award and physical Terror token remain committed through that response.
The [publisher FAQ, p. 5](https://www.gf9games.com/dune/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Dune-FAQ-Nov-2020.pdf)
allows the Emperor to give allied spice directly for any reason, collected
immediately. The user-authorized revised Advanced sheet, physical p. 31,
explicitly says any time. Applying the Basic gift at this decision is a
provisional online timing interpretation. This initial entry is limited to the
Ecaz/Moritani expansion with native Moritani and classic factions, without
independent Ecaz cards, optional modules or competing parents. When the payer
is automated and its Emperor ally is human, a neutral public opportunity now
waits for the Emperor to finish sharing or Continue. The same opportunity
appears regardless of the Emperor's private spice, and a gift or canceled
gift returns to it. The original Extortion event and payer stay unchanged.
The explicit Continue is a provisional online priority, not a publisher
timing ruling. Other interrupted windows remain unfinished.

### Basic mixed selected-deck Extortion — 30 October 2026
The same Basic opportunity is available with selected Ix and CHOAM decks and
their native factions, retaining the original payer, queue, token and award.
The human Emperor's automated ally waits for gift or Continue. A real Karama
may be interrupted by supported Kull and Semuta; their costs and responses
resume the same Extortion decision. The Kull discard's canonical identity
check also recognizes the real Richese cache Karama when used as a distinct
counter. [Ixian and Tleilaxu journeys](../tests/emperor-extortion-gift-mixed-basic.test.ts)
and [CHOAM/Richese reactions](../tests/emperor-extortion-gift-kull-semuta-basic.test.ts)
use public setup and native decisions with staged alliances, cards, positions
and wallets. The FAQ-based online ordering remains provisional. Independent
Ecaz cards, optional modules, competing parents, complete games and deployed
acceptance remain open; the Advanced envelope is unchanged.
## Advanced allied auction payment — 29 October 2026
For a clean classic Advanced auction won by the Emperor's current mutual ally,
the Emperor receives a uniform opportunity to give spice before the original
payment. The same public waiting window appears whether the buyer holds Karama
or the Emperor has available spice; only the Emperor sees the gift amount
available. Continue leaves payment to the buyer or the existing automatic
settlement. A gift's Karama response retains the original lot, bid and
committed payer split; allowing it credits the buyer once, while cancellation
transfers nothing. Gifted buyer spice follows the buyer's normal payment route;
the previously pledged Emperor contribution remains separately accounted for.
The uniform priority and explicit Continue are provisional online timing for
the authorized Advanced rules' any-time power, not publisher instructions.
The same Continue is currently required even when the Emperor has no spice;
this protects the private balance but still needs refinement to meet the
project's no-confirmation requirement for forced automatic actions.
Older already-open payments do not acquire a new window. Other auction modes,
optional modules and live commitments needing a combined planner remain
unfinished. [Runtime cases](../tests/emperor-auction-gift.test.ts) use real
setup, alliance and bids with explicitly staged balances and cards;
[rendered controls](../tests/emperor-auction-gift-controls.test.tsx) cover the
table and owner-only opportunity.

## Advanced Guild timing prototype — 29 October 2026
The user-authorized revised rules, physical p. 31 (printed p. 29), allow the
Emperor to transfer spice to an ally at any time and for any reason. In a
clean classic-faction Advanced game, an Emperor can now make that gift while
the Guild's normal Shipment and Movement timing choice is pending. The choice
remains in place while the gift's ordinary Karama response resolves. Allowing
the gift transfers the selected uncommitted spice once; cancellation transfers
none. Either outcome leaves the same Guild decision and movement order.
The owner-only control uses the server's current amount and ally quote. The
initial scope excludes optional modules, competing continuation windows and
live commitments requiring a combined planner. The pre-existing quiet-window
gift remains unchanged. Other decision and response parents and the source's
complete any-time scope remain unfinished; this prototype does not certify
Advanced play or deployed behavior.
[Runtime cases](../tests/emperor-guild-timing-gift.test.ts) start a real
Advanced game and stage the alliance and movement boundary; [rendered controls](../tests/emperor-timing-gift-controls.test.tsx)
cover the actual table and owner-only control.
